Sixth Form Curriculum
Stormont House Year 12 is a 5 day a week provision that is shared with partner colleges and providers. Students in our Year 12 typically spend 3 days a week in school, accessing a PfA and Transition focused curriculum and 2 days a week at one of our partner providers accessing part time accredited BTEC or City & Guilds Vocational courses (the split of days can vary depending on college course requirements).
Stormont House Sixth Form Curriculum
On the 3 days a week in school students access the following:
- Functional Skills English and Maths
- ICT
- BTEC Workskills - including Enterprise Projects and Work Experience
- Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award
- Sports Leader Award
- Preparing for Adulthood
- Prince's Trust Mosaic Mentoring
Partner Provider Curriculum
Each Year 12 student accesses a course at one of our Partner Providers at least 2 days a week. The selection of a course is based on:
- Students interests and career aspirations.
- Parent/Carer views
- Maths and English levels
- If the provider can meet the young persons needs
- College Environment e.g. Does a small, quiet environment suit the young person?
- Courses offered by FE colleges and Alternative providers
Our current Partner Providers are:
- BSix Sixth Form College (BSix)
- New City College Hackney (NCC)
- East London Advanced Technology Training
